I just noticed that I hadn’t written a post in over a month. Sorry! I have been busy trying to tackle the garlic situation, working on hair accessories for my very first craft fair, and learning how to make soap (more about this in another post.) I have so much to catch you all up on.
Garlic planting took longer than I had anticipated, but we were not expecting my husband to be given a new area to supervise at work, which pretty much took him out of the garlic planting entirely. One of our investors (and a great person) Corry helped a ton with this endeavor. She and I planted most (we have had some help from great friends and family) of the 22 crates by ourselves. It is not difficult work, but it is time consuming and not something that can be done in a comfortable position. We plant a single clove at a time. Imagine how many cloves there are in 600 lbs of garlic 🙂 A lot!!!
I look forward to seeing the garlic come up and evaluating how we did as first timers. As I sit here, I cannot believe we jumped head first into this. We knew very little and figured it out as we went along. I am proud of how much we have accomplished and I look forward to doing a better job next year.
I promise to write more…..and I would love to hear from you all.
